Higher than Senegal and Morocco: Super Eagles ranked most expensive team in Africa

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been ranked the most expensive national football team in the world according to transfermarkt.

Nigeria boast of a lot of quality especially attacking-wise. Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman are two of the best players in the Italian Serie A.

Samuel Chukwueze has caught fire since Quique Setien took over at Villarreal, and Paul Onuachu was a consistent hitman for Genk until his January move to Southampton.

In a report by BSN, the Super Eagles jumped two places higher to become the most expensive team in Africa and 13th in the world with a valuation of €338.5million.

Osimhen makes up a huge chunk of that amount, as his value has skyrocketed after his recent exploits with Napoli. The 24-year-old striker is valued at €100million. Wilfred Ndidi also makes up a significant part of the valuation despite his depreciation. He is worth €32million.

Lookman, Iwobi, Chukwueze, Terem Moffi, Calvin Bassey, Paul Onuachu, and Joe Aribo are the other top players that have added to Nigeria’s valuation.

African champions Senegal rank 27th on the list, World Cup semifinalists Morocco are 14th, and Ivory Coast are ranked 22nd.
