Gift Orban scored the game-winning goal for Gent against Anderlecht; meet another Nigerian who did the same for Jong Gent

Gent is currently ranked fifth in the Belgian Pro League, while its youth squad is ranked eighth in the Belgian Division 1

Nigerian attacker Gift Orban scored the game-winning goal for KAA Gent against Anderlecht on Sunday at the Ghelamco Arena.

The 20-year-old’s superb strike past the Netherlands’ goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen at the Ghelamco Arena clinched the win.

A day earlier, on the other side of Ghent, at the Chillax Arena, another Nigerian, Igbokwe Goodluck, gave a courageous effort for the Jong KAA Gent against Thes Sport.

Gent has been attempting to use every trick in their book to return to winning ways since their away triumph against Rupel Boom in January.

In their quest to secure all three points, the Jong Gent played host to Thes Sport, who could equal Ghent if they won.

Young KAA Gent was able to have an impact on the game right away. The 20-year-old attacking midfielder rattled the visitor’s nets after just seven minutes.

The Nigerian pounced on a ball recovery near midfield, sprinted past the defender, and scored. The home team had complete control of the match due to the forward’s early goal.

Following the victory, the Ghent-based team has 43 points, placing them eighth in the Belgian National Division 1, 1ste Nationale.

Who is Igbokwe Goodluck?

Goodluck, a centre forward born in Lagos, Nigeria, is 20 years old and plays for KAA Gent’s youth squad. Before travelling to Europe to play for Buffalo’s Under-21 squad in 2021, he played for Right2Win Sports Academy in Nigeria.

The Nigerian prodigy has 7 goals in 22 games in the 1ste Nationale following Saturday’s triumph.
