“He should have done better”- Manchester United legend criticizes Iheanacho for performance against club

Iheanacho was on a three-game scoring streak until the Manchester United game

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has blamed Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho for the Red Devils’ third goal in their 3-0 victory over Leicester City on Sunday.

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers handed Iheanacho a starting shirt when the Foxes traveled to Old Trafford for their Premier League clash.

The Foxes started well, but they failed to take their chances early on. Manchester United grew into the game with Marcus Rashford scoring the opener just before halftime.

Goals from Rashford and Jadon Sancho then scored to seal the comprehensive win for the former English champions.

However, there were claims of an infringement on Iheanacho in the build-up to Manchester United’s third goal. However, Neville thinks otherwise. He believes Iheanacho should have been stronger when Lisandro Martinez challenged him for the ball.

“That(third goal) is such a good goal. Leicester complaining about a potential foul on Iheanacho, I don’t think it was,” he said on Sky Sports per Leicester Mercury.

“I just thought Iheanacho had to do better.

“Iheanacho has got to do better than that, it’s about three or four times in the second half it’s just bounced off him. He’s stronger than Martinez, but doesn’t show it.”

The loss to Manchester United was Leicester City’s first loss in five games. Iheanacho would look to help his side return to winning ways when they play Arsenal in a potentially pulsating encounter.
