Everton “pressing ahead” to secure Nigerian forward on fresh contract terms

The highest assist creator on Sean Dyche’s squad is the Nigerian attacker, who has six assists for Everton.

Nigerian international, Alex Iwobi, whose contract at Goodison Park Stadium is set to expire next year, is the target of Everton FC’s efforts to clinch a new agreement.

Following his excellent performance for the blues, reports claimed that the Merseyside club is moving ahead to propose a new deal to lengthen his stay with the Toffees.

It would be recalled that after his outstanding performance, which got off to a great start under the direction of their previous manager Frank Lampard, contract negotiations began.

The Super Eagles forward’s six assists and a goal for the Toffees in their fight against relegation as a consequence have drawn plaudits from football fans.

His former boss had previously stated that the Nigerian would get a new contract, but nothing has been mentioned since. And it is anticipated that Sean Dyche, the new manager, will bring about a difference. But, it is evident from the most recent rumours that Everton is much more in need of the Super Eagles star’s talents.

After reaching an agreement on a new deal for the goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, Patrick Boyland said on Twitter that the Merseyside club are pushing forward with their ambitions to tie Iwobi down at Liverpool.

The Nigerian international has participated in almost all of Everton’s Premier League games so far this season, and from midfield, he has made an impact with one goal and six assists in the domestic league.
