21-year-old Nigerian footballer dies in Spain

Ado Hadi a 21-year-old footballer plying his trade in Spanish Tercera club CD Madridejos collapsed and died during a league game on Sunday.

Hadi played at Nigerian club Jigawa Golden Stars for three years before moving to Spain two years ago.

The 21-year-old defender was one of four Nigerian players at the club.

Unfortunately for Hadi, his career came to an untimely end. The former Jigawa Golden Stars man slumped in the 39th minute of CD Madridejos’ game against Cabanillas, and all efforts by the medicals to revive him proved abortive.

The club released a statement shortly afterward announcing that Hadi had passed on.

“Totally devastated and broken with pain, the club wrote on their official twitter.

“The entire family that makes up the club, we want to thank all the expressions of affection and support received after the fatal misfortune experienced yesterday. Heartfelt thanks to all Rest in Peace Hadi”

CD Madridejos play in Group 18 of the Tercera Federation league in Spain.
