Watch: Chuba Akpom hits Marcus Rashford’s celebration after scoring his 14th goal

Chuba Akpom has been a standout for Middlesbrough, scoring 14 goals and assisting once in 22 domestic league appearances.

Nigeria-eligible forward, Chuba Akpom scored his 14th goal in Middlesbrough’s victory against Watford FC.

Middlesbrough outclassed Watford 2-0 at the Riverside Stadium to overtake them and move into third place in the Sky Bet Championship.

Marcus Forss’ goal, along with one from Super Eagles-eligible forward, helped Michael Carrick’s team win their fourth game in their last 5 domestic league matches.

However, after being defeated by Sunderland in the North-East derby last weekend, Boro was able to respond impressively thanks to goals from Chuba Akpom and Marcus Forss in the first half.

The match was dominated by Michael Carrick’s team, and their new January purchase, Cameron Archer, set up Akpom’s goal with a third-minute shot that was deflected over.

However, the forward who pledged allegiance to Nigeria in 2019 ran to the crowd to celebrate by pointing a finger to his head, just like the Manchester United forward would do.

The December Sky bet Championship player of the month has now scored 14 goals in 22 match appearances for Boro leading the scoring chart with 1 goal ahead of Coventry City’s Viktor Gyokeres.
