“There were many obstacles that I had to overcome”– Osimhen uncovers his achievement so far

Manchester United has been strongly linked with a move to sign the Nigerian international.

Super Eagles talisman, Victor Osimhen, has exposed the challenges he faced on his rise to stardom.

The Prince of Naples, however, acknowledged that his road to success was paved with difficulties, but he has been working hard to disprove his critics.

The Nigerian sensation moved to Lille in the 2019–20 season and played only one season with the Ligue 1 team before beginning to get widespread attention.

The Nigerian striker scored 13 goals and contributed 4 assists in 27 domestic league games for Northmen during a season with Les Dogues.

However, after moving to the Diego Maradona Stadium to join Napoli, he has scored 37 goals and provided 8 assists for Luciano Spalletti’s team.

In the 2022-23 season campaign, the Nigerian star has taken his performance to another level, scoring 13 goals and leading the Serie A scorer chart with 2 goals ahead of his countryman, Ademola Lookman (11).

This has, however piqued the interest of some European clubs like Manchester United, who will capture the Nigerian for a club-record sum of £115 million.

However, the 24-year-old said in an interview with Omasports TV that he is happy with his performance so far.

“Am I satisfied with the level I have reached? Probably more than 100%, 1001%, because I achieved a goal for myself, the kind of life I want to live, and even when things weren’t going so well, I kept believing in it, dreaming, praying, working hard, doing that job that is my true love, football, and to get where I am today there were many obstacles that I had to overcome. A lot of hate and love, stabs in the back, too many complications that really hurt me.”. he said.

Speaking about his injury return, the former star of Lille remarked.

“it is a huge satisfaction for me because, considering the fact that I suffered many serious injuries, I always came back, I gave my best That’s why, every day I wake up, I give thanks to God, thank you very much, thank you for everything because without it I wouldn’t have gotten to where I am today.” he added.

The Super Eagles star who has scored two-digit goals in 15 matches for the Gli Azzurri has been tipped to win the Serie A top scorer in the 2022-23 season campaign, which could however trigger his way out of the Diego Maradona stadium in the next transfer window.
