Victor Osimhen has not had much of a chance to score for Nigeria, but he has being tipped to break Rashidi Yekini’s record.
Al Adalah player, John Ogu, has revealed that the Nigerian international would replace the void left by Super Eagles icon Rashidi Yekini.
The late Nigerian striker, who played for the Nigerian national team, is the country’s all-time leading goal scorer.
The Nigerian international, on the other hand, has stated that at the rate the Super Eagles striker is going, he will break the Icon’s goal-scoring records.
In a discussion, the former Academica player said that the Neapolitan attacker is eager for success, which he demonstrated in a training ground brawl with one of the Super Eagles players, Leon Balogun.
He is not shocked by the Parthenopean striker’s record so far and has predicted him to smash records.
He said this during a chat with renowned sports writer Matthew Edafe, as quoted by Sportsbrief:
“You know [Osimhen] grew up on the street. He had a tough time. There was a time he had to fight with Balogun in training. That’s to tell you how because he is hungry for it.”
“When I saw people say congratulations to him, I told him it’s not surprising to me. Osimhen will step in the shoes of Rashidi Yekini.”
The Nigerian attacker has 12 goals in Serie A, three more than his countryman Ademola Lookman.
