Serie A top scorer Osimhen tipped to struggle against Juventus’ Brazilian import

The Nigeria international could help the Neapolitans go ten points clear at the top of the table with a win over the Old Ladies on Friday

Serie A expert Paolo De Paola is expecting Juventus defender Gleison Bremer Silva Nascimento to make life difficult for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen when the two teams trade tackles in a top-of-the-table clash at Diego Maradona Stadium on Friday.

League leaders Napoli, with a seven-point advantage over second-place Juventus, could go ten points clear with a win over the Old Ladies.

But in Juventus, Napoli will face a side that has rejuvenated their season with an astonishing run of seven straight victories.

The Neapolitans, though, will bank on their star forward Victor Osimhen, who has ten goals already this term – the most of any player in Serie A at the moment.

Osimhen has been a handful for defenders across the country and beyond, with former footballers and league experts admitting that the Nigerian is the most complete striker in the division.

While Paolo De Paola does not disagree that Osimhen is a handful, the Italian football analyst is convinced that Osimhen will find his match in Juventus’ Brazilian import, Bremer.

In an interview on Radio Punto Nuovo, Paolo De Paola said, “Bremer versus Osimhen? He’s an uncomfortable defender for any striker, let’s remember the clashes between Napoli and Turin last year.”

Bremer was formerly on the books of Torino before he was snapped up by Juventus last June.

But Osimhen scored one of his most memorable goals for Napoli against Bremer and Torino in October 2021.

The Super Eagles striker netted the only goal of the matchday-eight encounter in the 81st minute of the encounter in Naples to break Torino’s hearts. Compatriot Ola Aina played for the entire duration of the match for Torino on that day.
