Red-hot Super Eagles star has been nominated for FIFA 2023 team of the year

The Super Eagles attacker, who added another goal to his tally on Sunday, has lately made headlines for his excellent performance.

Super Eagles talisman, Victor Osimhen, has been named among the nominees of the FIFA team of the year.

The Nigerian international has clearly made the cut with his performances for Napoli so far, netting a respectable number of goals for Luciano Spalleti’s side.

This season, the 24-year-old has 11 goals and two assists in all competitions for the Neapolitans.

It is safe to say that his performance as one of the Parthenopeans’ top scorers is one of the reasons the Italian giants are presently dominating the league with 7 points..

His individual achievement, on the other hand, has earned the Nigerian attacker a well-deserved spot in the FIFA 2023 team of the year.

According to FIFA, fans will now be able to vote on who merits a spot in the renowned Team Of The Year XI, as voting has just begun and will end on January 17, with the final list being announced on Thursday, January 19.

The Super Eagles player will battle for a spot in his category with the likes of Karim Benzema, Neymar, Vinícius Jnr., Ousmane Dembélé, João Félix, Gabriel Jesus, Phil Foden, Cody Gakpo, Erling Haaland, Harry Kane, Robert Lewandowski, Sadio Mané, Kylian Mbappé, Christopher Nkunku, Darwin Núñez, Mohammed Salah, Heung Min Son, Dusan Vlahovic, Olivier Giroud and Antoine Griezmann.
