Monaco boss wary of Super Eagles striker’s threat ahead of big clash

Monaco take on Lorient on Wednesday, and coach Philippe Clement is wary of the quality of Les Merlus’ attack

Monaco coach Philippe Clement has praised Lorient striker Terem Moffi ahead of their clash on Wednesday.

Moffi has been spectacular for Lorient in Ligue 1 this season. He is only behind PSG stars Neymar and Kylian Mbappe on the league’s goalscoring charts.

The Nigerian hitman has registered ten goals in Ligue 1 this season, alongside Jonathan Davies, Alexander Lacazette, and Folarin Balogun.

Lorient will take on Monaco on Wednesday at the Stade du Moustoir, and Moffi would be looking to increase his goal tally.

Monaco boss Clement is aware of the threat that the 23-year-old Super Eagles striker possesses, and he has plans to put his excesses in check.

“Lorient is a well-organized team, capable of making quick transitions with their three attackers, like Terem Moffi, Clement said.

“I have known him for a long time because he played for Kortrijk in Belgium. He is a powerful, impact player.”

Lorient have not lost to Monaco in their last three meetings. And Moffi would look to increase his goal tally against Monaco.
