“Letting himself be fooled by Osimhen” – Brazilian defender ripped apart after Nigerian striker’s demolition job on Juventus

Nobody – not even the manager – was impressive for the Old Lady in Naples on Friday night as the former champions crumbled to one of their heaviest defeats in recent time

Former Inter Milan defender Daniele Adani has slammed Juventus centre-back Gleison Bremer Silva Nascimento for coming up second-best against Victor Osimhen during their matchday 18 clash at the Diego Maradona Stadium on Friday.

Known for his no-nonsense style of defending, Gleison Bremer had been tipped by Paolo De Paola to make Osimhen’s evening an uncomfortable one.

It was no wishful thinking as the Brazilian international had been key to Juventus keeping a clean sheet in each of their last eight games ahead of the top-of-the-table clash with Napoli.

But Osimhen did not get the memo and the Nigerian striker put up arguably the best performance of his career to completely outsmart and outclass the Juventus’ centre-back trio of Bremer, Danilo, and Alex Sandro.

The Super Eagles striker contributed three goals (scored twice and added an assist) as Napoli became the first team to score five goals against Juventus in the Italian Serie A since Pescara achieved the same in 1993.

Ex-Fiorentina ace Daniele Adani was left impressed by the brilliance of Osimhen who he gave the fearsome moniker, “the wrath of God”.

But the retired defender is more appalled by the display of the three Juventus centre-backs, especially Bremer, who allowed Osimhen to make them look like rookies.

Responding to a question on Tutto Napoli on what infuriated him about Juventus’ 5-1 destruction in Naples, Adani noted, “Bremer, letting himself be fooled by Osimhen who at this moment is a wrath of God. But what does Danilo do? Should he double up on the Nigerian or close on 77 (Napoli’s KvaraKhvicha Kvaratskhelia)?”

In an incredible season that has Napoli flying in Serie A, Victor Osimhen has managed 12 goals and three assists in 14 games to lead the scorer’s chart.

Osimhen’s closest challengers for the topscorer award are Spezia’s M’Bala Nzola, Bologna’s Marko Arnautovic, and Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez, all with eight goals apiece.
