Ladan Bosso pledges to right wrongs ahead of AFCON 2023 tournament

Bosso’s squad will compete in AFCON 2023 against Egypt, the host nation, Senegal, who placed second in 2015, 2017, and 2019, and Mozambique, which is making its second appearance.

The Flying Eagles’ head coach has said that his team’s goal for the competition is to win the African Cup of Nations.

The busy manager is attempting to restore order to his team in preparation for the tournament, which will take place in less than four weeks, by sending some players home and inviting those who are worthy of participating.

The coach said that he will make up for the Flying Eagles’ prior dismal performance by ensuring they win the AFCON 2023.

While speaking with reporters, Bosso expressed his desire for his youngsters to compete in the forthcoming competition in Egypt.

“We won the WAFU qualifiers in Niger Republic and it’s my wish that we go to the World Cup in Indonesia as the champions of Africa,” he said.

Recall that the boss was reinstated as the flying eagles’ coach eleven years after he was dismissed of his duties.

The former Abia Warrior Manager, who only managed a bronze medal with the Flying Eagles, became renowned for his criticism of England referee Howard Webb after the Flying Eagles fell to Chile in the World Youth Championship Quarterfinals.

The Nigerian manager, who is seeking any and all measures to rectify his team’s poor performance, went on to say.

“That aside, I want to make amends for the 2007 not-pleasant performance of the Flying Eagles. I want to improve on it by going all the way “

When the competition starts next month, the Nigerian Under-20 squad will play Egypt, Mozambique, and Senegal.
