The two accomplished attackers are among the most valuable in the Italian top flight but the Nigerian is flying high on the scorers’ chart
Italian football analyst Giancarlo Padovan is convinced that Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is a more complete striker than Juventus forward Dušan Vlahović.
Just over four years after arriving in Italy, Vlahović has developed into one of the most respected strikers in the Italian Serie A.
A few weeks ago, the 22-year-old became the highest-scoring Serbian player in Italian top-flight history. And at an estimated value of €80m, Vlahović is the second most valuable player in Serie A.
However, the former Fiorentina ace has had a slower start to the 2022-23 season, managing only six league goals in ten games, four goals behind Osimhen.
Osimhen, who also became Nigeria’s all-time highest goalscorer in Serie A this term, has enjoyed a spectacular opening few months in the league.
The Nigerian is top of the goalscorer’s chart and is fueling Napoli’s charge for a first league title in over three decades.
And Sky Sports commentator Giancarlo Padovan believes the Super Eagles striker is better than Vlahović because of his physicality and the variety in his goals.
While talking on the Sports Show of Radio Punto Nuovo, Giancarlo Padovan says he is not surprised that Osimhen is doing well.
Padovan said, “Who do I take between Osimhen and Vlahovic in full form? Vlahovic has been out for a while and who knows how he will come back…
“In 100% conditions, I always take Osimhen. He is the most complete and elastic, he knows how to score in any way. The goal scored in Genoa is extraordinary for his snap and instinct, so I always take the Nigerian and it is no coincidence that he is the top scorer in Serie A.”
In agreement with Giancarlo Padovan, former Juventus midfielder Raffaele Ametrano has stated that Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is the best striker in Serie A.
