The one-cap Super Eagles attacker is having an exciting time in Saudi Arabia but he could be tempted back to Europe by the Black Eagles
Contrary to reports making the rounds, Turkish Super Lig giants Besiktas are still pushing to sign Nigerian attacker Anthony Nwakaeme from Al Fayha says transfer market expert Nicolò Schira.
Besiktas had earlier emerged as the frontrunners for Nwakaeme’s signature, with the Black-and-Whites in the market for a solution to their attacking problems.
Nwakaeme is no stranger to Turkish football having spent four years at Trabzonspor, winning the league title with the Black Sea Storms earlier this year.
But reports in a section of the Turkish media a few weeks ago suggested that Besiktas head coach Senol Gunes had told his bosses at the club that he had no plans for Nwakaeme.
That rejection from the Besiktas team manager was expected to shut down the club’s planned negotiations with the Nigerian star and his representatives.
The opposite, however, appears to be the case as renowned transfer market expert Nicolò Schira insists that Besiktas remain in talks to sign Nwakaeme.
The Black Eagles are reportedly offering to sign the 33-year-old on a permanent deal that will keep him in Istanbul until the summer of 2024.
A versatile attacker who can play on either wing, as an attacking midfielder, and as a striker, Nwakaeme guarantees goals everywhere he goes.
The former Hapoel Beer Sheva forward has scored an astonishing 121 goals in 399 matches in his impressive career that saw him play in Israel, Romania, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia.
Nwakaeme already has three goals in six league appearances for Al-Fayha FC, a team he only joined in August.
