Former 36 lion player, Sanusi, donates to the community while covering medical costs.
Super Eagles forward Sanusi Ibrahim awards a year of free medical care to individuals in Nassarawa.
Over 150 people from different wards in Nassarawa State’s Keffi Local government area will benefit from a year of free medical care from the MLS star.
It should be recalled that the Major League Soccer team announced that it had signed the teenage Nigerian player for an unknown sum.
The 20-year-old signed a three-year contract with the Major League Soccer team, FC Montreal, which would keep him at Saputo Stadium until 2023 with an optional year in 2024.
Sanusi made headlines with Nigeria Professional Football League team Nasarawa United and was said to be linked to a transfer to the English club Watford.
He scored 10 goals in 22 league games during the 2018–19 season, placing him in a tie for the league’s co-top scorer honours.
However, the Nigerian international is returning to the community to give back after joining the Canadian squad from Nigeria.
According to Nigerian, the Si14 Foundation and Nassarawa Health Insurance Agency will provide medical care to people in Keffi Local Government who have a range of ailments.
Sports247 cited him as saying:
” The Si14 Foundation in collaboration with Nassarawa Health Insurance Agency have started offering free medical services to patients within Keffi LG.” he said, as quoted by Sports247.
“I believe this is an avenue where we can give back to the society in our own little way as the saying, charity begins from home.”
“We hope to expand it in the nearest future.”
Sanusi, who played against Tanzania for the Olympic Eagles in a 2-0 triumph, will look to feature in his side’s tie against Uganda or Guinea in the last round to ensure qualifying for the AFCON U-23.
