The Nigerian-American, who is the Junior brother of Super Eagle’s Bright Dike, has been a long-term injury absentee for Albion this season.
West Brom Manager, Carlos Corberan, hailed the impact of his super substitute, Daryl Dike, for his goal contribution in the comeback win at Sunderland.
The Championship club defeated Sunderland 2 goals to 1 at the Stadium of Lights thanks to goals from Tom Rogic and Dike, who came from the bench in the second half of the game to score their first goals for the club.
10 minutes to the final whistle, The Nigerian-American, who has endured two serious injuries in his 12 months at The Hastjons rose to Jed Wallace stunning cross to nod the ball into the net.
The Spanish boss, while speaking at the end of the game, said;
“I think Wallace today had some very good crosses in some moments, and in some, his delivery was not at the level of his quality.
“But fortunately, he put one very good cross, and Dike made one very good finish.”
However, the striker has been out of play since early August due to a significant thigh injury and could not participate in many training sessions.
The Spaniard, when speaking on his fitness, said:
“Dike is a little bit different because we need to manage very well his minutes in training and his minutes in the game. We need to help him to perform, but also to stay fit so that he can help the team.”
