The 33-year-old forward is a veteran of the Super Lig, with a return to Turkey reportedly now in the works
Turkish giants Besiktas are interested in bringing Nigerian forward Anthony Nwakaeme back to the Super Lig in January.
Nwakaeme left Turkey in the summer following a hugely successful four-year spell at Trabzonspor.
The Nigerian winger recorded 47 goals and 40 assists in 145 matches for the Black Sea Storms.
Last season was particularly memorable for Nwakaeme as the 33-year-old notched 13 goals and ten assists in 30 appearances to power Trabzonspor to a first league title in over three decades.
But despite the success found working together, Trabzonspor and Nwakaeme could not agree on a contract extension at the end of the season.
And the former Hapoel Beer Sheva winger left the club to join Saudi Pro League side Al Fayha in August on a free transfer.
Nwakaeme signed a two-year deal, which will keep him at the Saudi Arabian club until 2024.
Three goals in his first seven appearances for the 2017 Saudi First Division champions have shown that Nwakaeme has lost none of his goalscoring instincts.
And Besiktas are impressed enough to want to lure Nwakaeme back to Turkey.
According to Sporx, Besiktas want Nwakaeme on a loan deal during the winter transfer window.
Contact has been made with the one-time Super Eagles star, who is reportedly open to returning to his old stomping ground.
Besiktas currently sit 8th on the league table with 22 points, seven points behind leaders Fenerbahce.
