The Super Eagles defender has been out injured since August, but he could return to action very soon
West Brom coach Carlos Corberan has revealed that Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi has returned to light training after a two-month injury layoff.
Ajayi sustained a knee injury in West Brom’s clash against Wigan Athletic in August.
The injury effectively ruled him out of the Baggies’ last eleven English Championship games.
However, in what is encouraging news West Brom boss Corberan has revealed that the 28-year-old defender is close to full recovery.
“They(Ajayi, Dike, and Bryan) are in the last step of their recoveries, that’s why the physical and medical department moved the players to work with the assistant coaches”, Corberan said as per Birmingham Mail.
Before his injury, Ajayi was a stronghold in the Baggies’ backline, featuring in seven of their Championship games under former coach Steve Bruce.
New coach Corberan will be on the touchline for West Brom for the first time when they play QPR on Saturday.
Ajayi would look to impress his new boss when he returns to full action.
