Aston Villa snapped up Unai Emery after they sacked Steven Gerrard, and the Yellow Submarine need a replacement as fast as possible
Spanish Laliga club Villarreal are set to employ former Barcelona coach Quique Setien as a replacement for Unai Emery, who left for Aston Villa.
The Villains sacked Steven Gerrard hours after they suffered a 3-0 thrashing at Fulham last Thursday.
However, Aston Villa snapped up Villarreal coach Unai Emery from Villarreal on Thursday after paying his €6million release clause.
The Yellow Submarine are against time to find a replacement. And according to reports from transfer market guru Fabrizio Romano, Villarreal have identified former Barcelona manager Setien as the best possible replacement.
The deal could be completed in a few days if Setien agrees on terms with Villarreal.
Chukwueze has slowly become a peripheral figure at Villarreal, with most of his appearances in the Europa and the reason is not far-fetched, as the Nigerian has failed to improve over the years.
Nonetheless, Chukwueze could fancy his chances with a new manager at the helm of affairs. Surely, Setien would look out for the players that perform best in training, and Chukwueze could win his manager’s trust if he is consistent.
