“I’m good enough to play for all three” – says exciting Fulham winger eligible for Nigeria, England, and Bulgaria

The young forward has already represented the two European countries at the youth level

Fulham-owned attacker Sylvester Alexander Jasper has confessed he is still undecided about which country to represent at the international level.

Born in England to a Bulgarian mother and a Nigerian father, Sylvester Jasper is eligible to play for any of these three football-loving nations.

In 2016, Jasper made two appearances for the England U-15s. But last year, the exciting winger was called up to the Bulgarian under-21 side, featuring in four games since.

However, the 21-year-old can still represent the Super Eagles and the national teams of Bulgaria and England.

Presently on loan at Bristol Rovers, Jasper is aware he needs to put in the work at the club level to gain recognition from the country of his choice.

“My mum is fully Bulgarian; my dad is from Nigeria,” Jasper told Bristol World. “Last season, I represented them for the first time.

“It was a nice experience; my family are from Bulgaria, my family got to see me play for the first time live, which was cool.

“I haven’t decided what country I am going to be playing for yet.

“I could represent England, Nigeria, or Bulgaria. I feel like I am good enough to play for all three, personally.

“I’m taking it one step at a time.

“I’ve got to establish a place in the team and start playing how I know I can play. We’ll see what happens.”

Jasper has been on the pitch for only sixty minutes in League One for Bristol this term, spread across four second-half substitute appearances.
