Europa Conference League: Chukwueze impresses for five-star Villarreal; Otubanjo’s brilliance sees Pyunik Yerevan through

The evening witnessed a lot of goals, and Nigerian players were part of the action

Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze supplied the assist for Alex Baena’s first goal for Villarreal in their 5-0 drubbing of Austria Vienna.

Villarreal welcomed Austrian side Austria Wien in their matchday three fixture at the Estadi Ciutat de Valencia.

The Yellow Submarine were huge favorites going into the game, and they wasted no time in showing their quality.

Chukwueze sent a cross into the box, and Baena converted calmly to make it 1-0 for the Spanish side. Arnaut Danjuma scored just before halftime to give the home side a two-goal lead.

Chukwueze was taken off for Parejo in the 65th minute. Before he was hauled off, Chukwueze completed four dribbles, two key passes, and a shot on target.

Jose Luis Morales, who was brought in at halftime showed grace, scoring a hattrick within 12 minutes to ensure Villarreal claim a 5-0 victory.

Elsewhere, Yusuf Otubanjo was the hero for Pyunik Yerevan in their 2-0 win over Zalgiris.

Juninho put the home team in front just before the break, then Otubanjo stepped up in the 60th minute to make sure Pyunik Yerevan claimed a 2-0 win that takes them to second in Group H.
