WATCH: Super Eagles’ last training in Constantine before Oran trip for Algeria friendly

The West African powerhouse will test their might against the North Africans in a friendly slated for Oran on Tuesday

The Super Eagles have, on Sunday afternoon, had their last training session in Constantine in preparation for their international friendly with Algeria on September 27.

The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winners will next pack their bags and make the 656 km journey to Oran venue of Tuesday’s match against the Desert Foxes.

The Super Eagles opened camp in Constantine on Tuesday, September 20, with Hajduk Split defender Chidozie Awaziem the first player to arrive.

Under the guidance of head coach Jose Peseiro and his crew, the team had its first training session on the same day, following the arrival of 17 other invited stars.

On Friday, in a test match, Nigeria played out a thrilling 2-2 draw with the home-based Algeria team preparing for the CHAN. Alex Iwobi and Cyriel Dessers scored both Super Eagles’ goals in that encounter.

Peseiro and his men will have to do much better to overcome the Algerian senior national team that will parade Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez among others.

Nigeria have not beaten Algeria since a World Cup qualifier in 2016.

The Desert Foxes defeated the Eagles 2-1 in the semifinal of the 2019 Afcon en route to lifting the trophy in Egypt.

The Algerians also edged an international friendly 1-0 late in 2020.
