WATCH: 18 Super Eagles players hold first training session in Constantine ahead of Algeria clash

Eighteen Super Eagles players were involved in the Super Eagles’ first training session in Constantine ahead of their clash against Algeria in a week’s time

The Nigerians will face the 2019 African champions in Oran on the 27th of September with 18 of the invited players already in camp.

Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, Raphael Onyedika, William Troost-Ekong, Kevin Akpoguma, Kenneth Omeruo, Chidozie Awaziem, Valentine Ozornwafor, Ola Aina and Zaidu Sanusi are all in camp already.

Others in the Super Eagles camp are returning goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, Moses Simon, Taiwo Awoniyi, Chidera Ejuke, Cyriel Dessers,  and Terem Moffi.

Still expected in camp are Francis Uzoho, Adeleye Adebayo, Ebube Duru, Godwin Saviour, Kelechi Iheanacho and Ademola Lookman.

The Nigerians were stopped from earning a World Cup ticket by Ghana and have found an engagement with top European and South American countries hard to find for the current international break.

With AFCON qualifiers also shifted to 2023, the Super Eagles have struggled to organise top friendly games and will face Algeria, who were also toppled by Cameroon for the World Cup ticket.

At least four players previously invited have been ruled out of the friendly including Henry Onyekuru, Ahmed Musa, Leon Balogun and the latest being Emmanuel Dennis.
