The nifty Super Eagles striker was ruled out of Nigeria’s friendly game against Algeria, but he could return soon after the international break
Adana Demirspor President Murat Sancak has revealed that Super Eagles striker Henry Onyekuru would be available for selection in his side’s fixture against Galatasaray on the 1st of October.
Onyekuru started the season in blistering form for Adana Demirspor, scoring two goals and assisting one in seven Super Lig games.
His performances earned him a place in coach Jose Peseiro’s 25-man squad for the international friendly game against Algeria on September 27.
Unfortunately for the 25-year-old attacker, he sustained an injury and had to be taken off at halftime in Adana Demirspor’s 3-0 victory at Antalyaspor.
The injury effectively ruled him out of Nigeria’s game against the Desert Foxes. However, in what is encouraging news for the Olympiakos loanee, he would be back just in time for his team.
According to Transferweb, Adana Demirspor’s President Sancak says that Onyekuru would be back in action immediately after the international break when they welcome league rivals Galatasaray.
The game would be significant for Onyekuru, as he would be facing his former side. He had two stints with Galatasaray, winning the league in the 2018/2019 season.
