Nigeria’s most successful club Chairman emerges NFF’s Vice President

Enyimba are the only West African club that has won the CAF Champions League in the last 18 years

Felix Anyansi-Agwu has been at the helm of affairs at the Aba-based team for the better part of two decades.

An experienced and successful football administrator, he has also been around the power circles of Nigerian football.

At the NFF’s 78th General Assembly in Benin, Anyansi-Agwu emerged the NFF’s first Vice President defeating Obinna Ogba by 15 votes.

A total of 41 votes were cast, with the valid votes being 31 as 10 were dubbed invalid. Anyansi-Agwu won the polls with 23 votes cast in his name while 8 votes went to his competitor.

The NFF Presidential election had earlier produced Ibrahim Musa Gusau as winner as he will replace the outgoing Amaju Pinnick.

The newly-elected officials will be in charge of the administration of Nigerian football henceforth with Pinnick’s eight-year tenure coming to an end.

Anyansi-Agwu is a respected football administrator in Nigeria and is one with a good history of successes at the club level.

His time at Enyimba has however come under criticism in recent years as the club isn’t as successful as it used to be. The People’s Elephants are however still considered one of the biggest teams in Africa.
