The Super Eagles were held to a stalemate by Algeria’s home-based national team in a test game on Friday
The Nigerians currently based in Constantine ahead of their friendly game against Algeria’a main team played out a 2-2 draw against the B team.
Desert Foxes opened the curtains in the first half, pegging the Nigerians back.
Nigeria scored through Alex Iwobi and Cyriel Dessers.
The starting eleven for the game were; Maduka Okoye, Ola Aina, William Troost-Ekong, Valentine Ozornwafor, Ebube Duru, Chidozie Awaziem, Frank Onyeka, Chidera Ejuke, Raphael Onyedika, Ademola Lookman and Taiwo Awoniyi.
Nigeria’s goals came through substitutes Iwobi and Dessers.
The Super Eagles will face Algeria’s main national side captained by Manchester City star, Riyad Mahrez on the 27th of September in a friendly match in Oran.
Majority of the starters in the test game on Friday are players yet to have an appearance under Peseiro. Onyedika, Okoye, Ozornwafor, Duru and Awoniyi have not featured for Nigeria under Peseiro until today.
Algeria’s main team will face Guinea tonight in a friendly match while the Super Eagles will wait for their main adversary.
