After Osimhen, Sadiq Umar, another Super Eagles striker gets injured

The last few weeks have been torrid for Nigerian players, as some of the top stars have suffered painful injuries, but they would look to return stronger

Super Eagles striker Peter Olayinka was taken off at halftime because he sustained an injury in Slavia Prague’s 3-0 thrashing at Viktoria Plzen.

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and Real Sociedad man Sadiq Umar were excluded from Jose Peseiro’s 25-man squad for the Super Eagles’ friendly against Algeria because they were nursing injuries.

Then, just hours after the squad-list was released, Leon Balogun and Henry Onyekuru were ruled out due to injury. Nonetheless, Valentine Ozornwafor and Emmanuel Dennis were been invited to replace them.

Well, another Super Eagles star could be spending some time on the sidelines, as Olayinka, who got the nod to start for Slavia Prague in their Fortuna Liga cracker against Viktoria Plzen was hauled off during the break because of an injury.

The extent of Olayinka injury is not known at the time of this report, but it may be a short-term one.

The Slavia Prague talisman has four caps for the Super Eagles.
