“A great honour to be the top scorer” – Super Eagles star enjoying new status

The Slavia Prague star scored a goal against Ballkani and in the process became the club’s top scorer in European competitions

Peter Olayinka was on the scoresheet for Slavia Prague on Thursday in the Europa Conference League and became the club’s best goalscorer in its European history.

Olayinka, who has weathered great storms in his career before getting to his current position said he feels honoured about his achievement.

Just a few years ago, he was victim of Police harassment in Nigeria and was helped by Peter Okoye of music group, PSquare who later revealed his surprise at seeing him play against Barcelona in the Champions League.

Olayinka’s status at Slavia Prague has grown in leaps and bounds and he’s currently arguably the most important player in the squad as he’s able to play in various positions.

On his new achievement as Slavia’s top scorer in Europe with 13 goals, Olayinka said;

“I’m really happy about it. It is a great honour to be Slavia’s top scorer in the European Cups,”

He was strongly linked with a summer move to Turkey but a transfer never materialised.

“I am in Slavia and I am very grateful that I was able to do something like this. Thanks to everybody, I couldn’t have done it without them.”
