The Nigeria international managed 14 Italian top-flight goals last term, but the veteran forward is tipping the youngster to do even better this year
SS Lazio striker Ciro Immobile has expressed his admiration for Super Eagles and Napoli forward Victor Osimhen.
Widely regarded as one of the finest penalty-box finishers in the game, Immobile has 183 goals in 293 Sere A games to his name.
While Osimhen managed 14 Serie A goals last term, Immobile netted nearly twice that, finishing as the league’s top scorer with 27 strikes.
Still, the 2020 European Golden Shoe winner is in awe of the qualities of the Nigerian forward.
And while trying to predict how many goals his fellow Serie A strikers would score this season, Immobile tipped Osimhen to do better than last term.
“Lukaku, I think, will score between 20 and 25 goals, also because he has a lot of anger inside him,” Immobile said (via Football Italia).
“Lautaro? Well, either he’ll do one or the other, so I think between 13 and 18.
“Vlahovic? He’ll exceed 20 goals. Milan? Between Giroud, Origi and Rebic, they will hit 30. Jovic? In my opinion, no more than 15.
“(Napoli’s Victor) Osimhen? I’m playing a specific number, 19 goals. I really like him as a striker. Zapata and Muriel? Between 25 and 30 together.
“Abraham? If he can put up the same numbers as last year, we should start talking about a great striker. He can be between 15 and 20.”
Osimhen already has his nose in front of Immobile, though. After two Serie A matches, the former Lille lad has hit the net twice, while the Italian striker has scored once.
