Transfer: Getafe set to hijack Super Eagles striker’s transfer

The Nigeria international will join another club before the end of the month even if his final destination is yet undisclosed

La Liga side Getafe FC are the latest club to be linked with a move for Super Eagles and UD Almeria forward Umar Sadiq.

Almeria’s CEO Mohamed El Assy earlier in the week confirmed that several clubs had submitted satisfactory offers for Sadiq.

El Assy, however, did not name the clubs willing to part with close to €30 million for the Nigeria international. It is believed, though, that Borussia Dortmund and Villarreal are among the clubs to have contacted Almeria for Sadiq.

And according to the authoritative Spanish news outlet, Marca, Getafe are also one of the teams to have made a bid for the former AS Roma starlet.

Almeria have, however, not sanctioned the sale of Sadiq. The Almeriensistas are keeping hold of their prolific forward so that he would be available for the opening league clash against Real Madrid on Sunday.

La Union are the huge underdogs against the Champions League and La Liga champions, even on home soil at the Estadio de los Juegos Mediterraneos.

Still, they would believe they stand a chance with Sadiq in their ranks.
