Super Eagles star was sighted in a test match with the home-based national team on Thursday

Ogenyi Onazi was seen featuring for the Super Eagles B team in a friendly game ahead of their game against Ghana this month.

Onazi, a 2013 AFCON winner and 2014 World Cup star said he joined the team to keep fit.

“I am in Abuja to get my passport, I heard the team is in camp and I came to train with them and keep fit,” Onazi was quoted as saying by Tobi Adepoju, a Nigerian journalist.

Super Eagles B defeated Manahaim FC in a test game in Abuja on Thursday.

More than 30 players have gathered in Abuja as the Super Eagles prepare for a double-header clash against Ghana. The winner will pick a slot for the CHAN tournament next year.

Recall that Onazi played with FC Adalah in Saudi Arabia and helped the team gain promotion to the first division.

He was also invited as a standby player to the Super Eagles squad which lost the 2022 World Cup ticket to Ghana in March.

The former Lazio and Trabzonspor midfielder played in two World Cups for Nigeria and also represented the country at the U-17 level.
