The Nigerian legend retired from active football 14 years ago, but his eye-catching displays linger in the hearts of many football lovers
The Confederation of African football and other fans took to social media to celebrate retired Super Eagles midfielder Austin Jay-Jay Okocha on his 49th birthday.
Okocha retired from active football in 2008, drawing the curtains on a career that spanned over 15 years.
The former Super Eagles star schemer made his name with his brilliant, eye-catching displays. In fact, Okocha was one of the best players to grace the pitch
Okocha had quite a career, creating memorable moments for fans of the round leather game.
The 1996 Olympics gold medallist played for Borussia Neunkirchen, Eintracht Frankfurt, Fenerbahce, PSG, Bolton, Qatar SC, and Hull City.
Okocha returned 49 today, and he received a lot of wishes on social media, most notable of which was CAF’s.
One of his former clubs Bolton, and other football fans also sent their best wishes, whilst praising him for his unforgettable dribbling ability.
