The Super Eagles forward scored a brace at the weekend but was snubbed in the team of the week by one of the world’s leading football stats company
Moses Simon was picked in the Ligue 1 Team of the Week while Terem Moffi was snubbed.
Simon produced a man-of-the-match display at the weekend and nicked a goal and an assist in Nantes’ 3-1 win against Toulouse. Moffi bagged a brace against Clermont Foot on the same weekend.
Simon and Angers goalkeeper had the highest match rating for the weekend with 8.7 recorded and can be stated to be Nigeria’s best performer for the week.
The Super Eagles forward had been touted to leave Antoine Koumbouare’s side but has started the season strongly with the Canaries despite continuous links.
Moffi was also linked with Wolves at some point in the window but has stayed on course at Lorient and is expected to improve on his goals return last season.
Both players were some of the few Nigerians who impressed during the weekend with many Nigerian forwards firing blanks.
Simon now has a hand in three goals this season scoring twice and assisting once in four games while Moffi also picked his first goals of the season against Clermont.
