The Super Eagles forward divides opinions among football fans, as he courts praises and criticism
Former Napoli star, Bruno Giordano has reserved praises for Napoli star man, Victor Osimhen after starting the new season on an impressive note.
Giodano, a 1987 Serie A winner with the Neapolitans said Osimhen is the catalyst in Napoli’s setup and said he has a range of qualities.
He said the Super Eagles forward is the protagonist in the Napoli team and he makes everyone else just as involved.
In a comparison that would court some debates, Giordano said the Nigerian forward heads the ball better than Manchester United and Real Madrid legend, Cristiano Ronaldo.
“We are talking about an incredible player and we are not discovering him now,” Giordano told Il Mattino, via Calcio Napoli 24.
“He opens gaps for his teammates, walks the defences and then scores. He does not give up and is always the protagonist : he plays every ball as if it were the one of life.”
He said the Nigerian, who scored seven headers last season is stronger in that area than the legendary Portuguese forward.
“The header. In this fundamental he is even stronger than Cristiano Ronaldo.”
Ronaldo has scored 122 headed goals in his career including in major tournaments. His supreme heading technique is regarded as one of the best in football.
