Announced: The Signing of Super Eagles Midfielder Kingsley Michael

Austrian club SV Guntamatic Ried announced the signing of Kingsley Michael, a Nigerian midfielder. The player has joined the club on a loan deal from the Italian club Bologna. Injury problems at the Austrian club forced its chiefs to sign the Nigerian star, whom they believe will help them maneuver the situation.

Kingsley Michael is undoubtedly one of the best Nigerian midfielders based on his previous performances. Several clubs across Europe are using this transfer window to fill the gaps in their squads. Football betting fans are also monitoring the movement in the transfer market to help them in their wagering strategy. The movement of Kingsley to SV Guntamatic Ried will encourage more Nigerian football bettors to start monitoring the club’s performance.

Kingsley Fits Reid’s Profile

Reid’s Sporting Director, Thomas Reicheltshammer, reiterated that the club was looking forward to a great working relationship with the player. He also revealed that they took their time to search for a player that fits the club’s profile. Reicheltshammer stated that the club believes they had found the right player in the Nigerian forward. The move is a win-win situation for both clubs as Kingsley gets the game time Bologna couldn’t offer him while Reid gets a stop-gap measure for their current woes.

Kingsley will play for SV Guntamatic with immediate effect. The 22-year-old made his Serie A debut in 2019. He is bullish about his move to the Austrian club. He stated that he would do his best to support the team. Furthermore, he said that he had spoken with the coach who revealed the club’s project, and it is in line with his football understanding.

According to Kingsley, his strengths include high pressing, and he is familiar with the Austrian league. Kingsley was born in Owerri, Imo State’s capital, Nigeria. He left Abuja in 2017 to join Bologna and played in the under-19 team. He went for his first loan spell in 2018 to Serie B club Perugia. He will be hoping that this loan spell will help him continue his development.

Another Super Eagles Star on the Move

Earlier it was reported that Super Eagles striker Umar Sadiq’s move to Villarreal had entered its final stages. The reports suggested that the striker had agreed on personal terms with the Spanish La Liga giants. It is believed that those in charge of Villarreal were convinced by Sadiq’s performances last season at Almeria. He scored 41 goals in 81 league matches helping the club get its promotion back to the La Liga. According to the reports, Umar Sadiq has agreed on personal terms with Villarreal bosses, and the club will be making the announcement once the player passes his medical examination.
