Senegal’s Sadio Mane won his second African player of the year award on Thursday at the CAF Awards 2022 in Rabat, Morocco.
The 30-year-old won his first award in 2019 but the Covid-19 pandemic made the next two awards impossible to hold.
Mane who recently moved to Bayern Munich, beat former Liverpool team mate Mohamed Salah and compatriot Edouard Mendy of Chelsea to the award.
It comes in a year where Mane scored the winning penalty at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
