Days after Spartak Moscow revealed the Nigerian didn’t resume training with the team, he has finally rejoined his teammates
Victor Moses has rejoined his teammates at Spartak Moscow after delaying his resumption due to personal reasons.
The Russian Cup champions confirmed Moses’ return via a statement on the club’s website and tweeted that he has rejoined the rest of the team.
There had been suggestions that Moses was delayed after his wife refused to allow him leave for preseason training camp at the Russian club over the war between the country and Ukraine.
The club said in a statement;
“Spartak is preparing for the start of the season at the base near Otkritie Bank Arena. Already this Saturday, our team will play in St. Petersburg against Zenit in the match for the OLIMPBET Russian Super Cup.
Victor Moses and Shamar Nicholson joined the team. The Nigerian missed the training camp in Tarasovka for personal reasons, and the Jamaican was granted leave after playing for the national team. In addition, Oston Urunov, who has returned from loan to Ufa, is training with the red-and-whites.”
Moses last represented the Super Eagles at the 2018 World Cup and helped Spartak qualify for the Europa League after winning the Russian Cup.
