Rivers Angels, Super Falcons youngster nominated for CAF awards

Super Falcons youngster was nominated as one of the best young players in Africa as Nigerian Women’s Football League side, Rivers Angels also got nominated 

Gift Monday has been nominated for the Young Player of the Year (Women) award.

Monday was nominated alongside nine other players from across the continent.

Rukiya Bizmana, Rediet Assresahagn, Evelyn Badu, Doris Boaduwaa, Yasmine Zouhir, Flourish Sebastine, Hapsatu Malado Diallo, Clara Luvanga, and Fauzia Najemba were the other nominees for the award.

Monday is currently with the Super Falcons where they are hoping to bounce back from the opening defeat to South Africa when they play their second game.Sebastine, who plays for Edo Queens is also one of the nominees.

For the Women’s Club of the Year award, Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, Ghana’s S.Hasaacas, AS FAR of Morocco, Malabo Kings of Equatorial Guinea, Egypt’s Wadi Degla, Rivers Angels and AS Mande of Mali were all nominated for the award.

In addition to the Young Player of the Year award, Gift Monday was also nominated for CAF Interclube Player of the Year alongside Rivers Angels star, Maryann Ezenagu.

The award ceremony will take place on the 21st of July.
