The pacy Nigerian forward has been ruled out of action due to injury, but he would look to make a strong comeback
Danish Superliga champions Copenhagen have ruled out Akinkunmi Amoo indefinitely due to an injury he sustained earlier this month.
The Super Eagles star has had a difficult start to the week, as he also failed to make the ten-man shortlist for the CAF young player of the year award.
And according to a statement by his club, Amoo will be out of action indefinitely due to injury.
Amoo’s injury comes at a bad time, as since his move from Hammarby to Copenhagen in January, 20-year-old has failed to justify the €4.5 million that was paid for his services.
The Nigerian forward struggled to get playtime last season, and the preseason was supposed to be the best time for him to get fully integrated into the team.
However, that will not happen. The new Danish is set to kick off on the 15th of July. And Copenhagen begin their title defense on the 17th.
Nonetheless, Amoo would look to recover quickly and prove his brilliance to help the Byens hold retain their Superliga title.
