Nigeria will face Cameroon in a battle for the 2023 World Cup ticket
Super Falcons coach, Randy Waldrum has recalled Ashleigh Plumptre and Francesca Ordega to the team as he keeps faith with a number of regulars.
The coach kept faith with first choice Chiamaka Nnadozie in goal with Michelle Alozie dropped to the bench, in place of Toni Payne.
Plumptre is back in the left back position while the defensive pairing of Onome Ebi and Osinachi Ohale are maintained.
Christy Ucheibe, Halimatu Ayinde and Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene are in the midfield while a three-pronged attack of Ifeanyi Onumonu, Rasheedat Ajibade and Ordega was named.
Alozie is a surprise exclusion having started the first three games of the tournament while Nicole Payne dropped back to the bench having started the game against Burundi.
Uchenna Kanu also returned to the bench as well as Peace Efih who started the last group game.
Nigeria and Cameroon are eternal rivals and have a history dating back to a long time ago.
The Lionesses are one of Africa’s best teams and will pose a big threat to Nigeria’s hopes of advancing to the semifinal and picking a World Cup ticket.
