Nigeria-eligible defender leaves Crystal Palace for Championship side

The youngster failed to get minutes in the Premier League last season, and he has left temporarily to get more game time

Nigeria-eligible defender Tayo Adaramola had joined English Championship side Coventry FC on a season-long loan from Crystal Palace.

Adaramola has spent most of his formative years at Crystal Palace. The 18-year-old has featured for Crystal Palace in the Under-18 Premier League and Premier League 2, making 48 appearances.

The young left-back loves to bump forward to support the attack, and that is evident in his ten assists and three goals return.

However, breaking into the first team at Selhurst Park does not seem very feasible at the moment, especially with Tyrick Mitchell’s presence.

Adaramola made two appearances in the FA Cup last season, but that was all he could get.

The Dublin-born forward has left Crystal Palace for more game time, as Coventry has announced that the youngster has joined on a season-long loan.

Adaramola will look to complement Jake Bidwell and Josh Reid in the left-back position for Coventry.

Tayo Adaramola was born to Nigerian parents in Ireland. Which makes him eligible to play for Nigeria or Ireland.

Nonetheless, he currently features for the Irish youth teams. But he could still switch allegiances to the Super Eagles as per FIFA rules.
