The Super Eagles forward scored 10 goals and had 6 assists last season in the Premier League
Emmanuel Dennis wants out of Watford as he has a relegation clause which means his wages will be lowered should the Hornets get relegated.
With relegation confirmed and life in the Championship to follow, Dennis is seeking a move away from Vicarage Road but will like his next destination to the the Premier League.
He joined the Hornets last season from Club Brugge for £3m and became an instant hit in the Premier League in the first half of last season.
His current valuation is believed to be in the region of £20-25m, a fee deemed too high by most clubs in the Premier League.
English football journalist, Ben Jacobs has said Newcastle should be looking to sign the less expensive Hornet, Dennis and suspend their interest in Senegalese winger Ismaila Sarr.
“I’m surprised, by the way, given that we’re talking about the possibility of making a signing from Watford, that Newcastle never came in for Emmanuel Dennis,” Ben Jacobs said.
“And I know that Nottingham Forest and even West Ham have been looking at him over the coming days, but there’s a few cheaper options than somebody like Sarr – and Dennis is probably going to be one of them.
“And I think that at 24 years of age and given the 10 goals that he scored last season in just 35 games, I believe, that would make a lot of sense, and that is of course why there is Premier League interest.
