The Fatih Karagumruk man has been a constant fixture in the Super Eagles squad despite his rollercoaster club career
Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has revealed that his great working relationship with Nigeria Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick has yielded positive results for him.
Musa is currently one of the longest-serving Super Eagles squad. The Fatih Karagumruk man is the only surviving member of the team that won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2013.
However, whilst Musa tends to shine on certain occasions, his good days in the National team shirt have reduced drastically in recent years. Still, Musa has been a constant fixture in the Super Eagles.
The 29-year-old has now revealed that the NFF President has been a major reason for his consistent Super Eagles call-ups.
“Amaju Pinnick and I have come a long way, and he believes in me,” Musa told Arise News.
“Back then at Leicester City, when I was not playing before the World Cup. People questioned my inclusion in the squad.
“But the President spoke with the coach(Gernot Rohr), and he told him that I had to be at the World Cup in Russia because he trusted me.
“Even when I returned to Nigeria to play for Kano Pillars, I still made the Super Eagles squad.
“There’s nothing personal about it. Pinnick believes in me, and I believe in him as my leader.”
