Ex-Bayern Munich star says Super Eagles stars’ exits will help Rangers

Former Bayern Munich and Denmark player said the exit of the Nigerian stars will help Rangers build

It’s been a busy window of entries and exits at Rangers as they have made seven acquisitions and sold some of their best players.

Super Eagles star, Calvin Bassey became the highest-ever sale made by the club when he joined Ajax in a €27m deal. His exit has been taken by the club’s fans as disappointing but positive.

Before Bassey’s exit, Joe Aribo bade bye to Ibrox faithful as he completed a dream move to the Premier League, joining Southampton.

Both players were important figures to the Gers’ title chase last season, their Europa League final appearance and their Scottish Cup triumph.

Former Bayern, Chelsea and Ajax player, Brian Laudrup, however feels it’s a blessing in disguise for the Scottish giants.

The former Danish international told the Scottish Sun that Rangers have an opportunity to rebuild with the money made from the sales of both Nigerians.

“Bassey then showed astonishing development in the second half of the campaign to make him one of the most sought-after young defenders in Europe. A couple of months back, I would have winced at the prospect of both departing Ibrox this summer, ” he said per the Scottish Sun.

“But it’s happened. And the result is actually exciting. Because the huge money earned from their sales holds the key to this season’s Premiership title race. “I like the look of how Rangers have spent so far. There’s a tremendous mix within the seven signings made — a bit of everything, really”.
