Chelsea agree deal with Huddersfield for whizkid of Nigerian descent

The Blues are working hard on bringing in new signings and facilitating loan deals for their youngsters as the transfer season hits top gear

Anglo-Nigerian midfielder Faustino Adebola Rasheed Anjorin will leave Chelsea to spend the entirety of the 2022-23 season at Championship campaigners Huddersfield Town, according to transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano.

Romano claims that Chelsea and Huddersfield Town have agreed on a year-long loan deal for the 20-year-old as he seeks to continue his development.

Coventry City, Queens Park Rangers, and Norwich City were all interested in taking Anjorin from Chelsea, but Huddersfield have won the race for his signature.

Anjorin spent the second half of last season on loan at Huddersfield, and he must have made quite an impression on the Terriers, who finished third on the table but lost out in the promotion playoffs.

Anjorin joined Chelsea at the under-9 level and has excelled through the ranks, helping the club win the 2017–18 FA Youth Cup.

The England youth international has, however, struggled to break into the Chelsea first team.

Things do not look like they would change any time soon, as manager Thomas Tuchel did not include him in the first team’s pre-season preparations.

The young attacking midfielder has three years to run on his contract with Chelsea.
