Time to move? Super Eagles forward didn’t score a single league goal last season

It’s not the best of times for Super Eagles attacker after failing to score a single league goal in fourteen games

Time was when the former Eupen forward was the real deal. He soon moved to Anderlecht and starred there also.

While an Everton stay could not happen over work permit issues, he was on loan Monaco and has had spells at Galatasaray where he’s deemed a cult hero.

Henry Onyekuru didn’t have the best of seasons, as he failed to turn up the lights in Greece where Olympiacos emerged champions.

In fourteen league games, he scored no goal and scored once in ten Europa League games in the past season.

Amid his struggle for form on the club end, he was a part of the Super Eagles’ AFCON party to Cameroon but the team got eliminated in the round of 16 despite starting the tournament as the team to beat.

Onyekuru is currently on the radar of European clubs including Galatasaray where he has found solace in the past and has found as his stomping ground. Should a move to Istanbul materialise, the well-followed forward will may find his footing again and get back to business.

His last season’s stats must improve, however, and at 25, he’s yet to hit his peak years. There is room for growth and there are great possibilities of returning to his Eupen levels.

The incoming season holds a lot of promise but Onyekuru must also be willing to be the difference, play regularly and find his way back to the Super Eagles.
