‘They’re the best we have’ – Peseiro hints on finding his perfect Super Eagles already

Super Eagles coach said he may have found his perfect group of players but won’t close the door if he finds better players in any position

Jose Peseiro has revealed that the current Super Eagles squad are the best the country has at the moment.

The Portuguese, who was in Ilorin during the weekend to watch Kwara United face Sunshine Stars said he has watched the players on videos and clips and all they need to do is understand the team’s general idea and philosophy.

“The players in the team at the moment are the best we have. I have watched a lot of videos and what they need to understand is our ideas and philosophy,” the former FC Porto manager said according to PUNCH.

“New players spring up every day in Nigeria but we have the best now. Okay, if I see a new player who is doing better than the player in his position. I will give him time little by little to help me understand our idea which is what we want to do more at the moment and not bring in new players.”

Peseiro led Nigeria to two victories in the opening matches of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers including all-time best record of a 10-0 win against Sao Tome and Principe.
