Top Italian coach states Osimhen desire amid Premier League interest

The Super Eagles forward has been a subject of strong Premier League interests this season

Napoli coach, Luciano Spalletti has stated his desire about the future of Victor Osimhen as his interest from England heightens.

The Il Partenopei have shown reluctance to allow their most prized asset leave the club this season as they slammed a €110m price tag on him.

Spalletti speaking to Tuttosport per PUNCH said he will like to have the former Lille forward for a longer time.

Osimhen has been linked with Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle this season but there hasn’t been any significant move yet.

“He (Osimhen) is a potential that can still be improved and made more profitable for the team,” Spaletti said.

“Osimhen has healthy selfishness of a centre forward who shoots as soon as he sees the goal and a physically overwhelming power that he expresses above all with his head and this characteristic is very popular in the Premier League.

“But I hope that in the end, no indecent proposal arrives at Napoli, so that I can shape this raw jewel, to make it shine even more because technically he still needs to improve.

“I hope to coach him for a long time.”

Osimhen finished as Napoli top scorer this season in the Serie A after netting 14 goals in 27 appearances.
