Dapo Afolayan is wanted by championship clubs after having a good season the last term.
The Nigerian who is dubbed the ‘new Okocha’ for Bolton Wanderers has proven himself as one of the best players in the team and arguably, the club’s most prized asset.
Bolton coach, Ian Evatts has confirmed that there have been interests in the player but any suitor must be ready to part with good money to prise the player away from the club.
Afolayan still has two years left on his contract with the club and have left Bolton in the driving seat in negotiations for a move.
“Again, there have been conversations but there has been a consistent message, and that is if clubs want to come and take our players they had better have deep pockets,” Evatts said.
“We are sat here and Rico and Dapo are five yards away from me, so it shows we do what we say and we say what we do. We want to keep hold of our best players.”
